Chelmsford and Essex Long-distance removal service
We may be based in Essex, but we offer long distance removals from Chelmsford and the surrounding towns, to anywhere in the UK.
There is much to think about when relocating across the UK, at Atkinson Removals, we have the experience, resources and knowhow to get you safely moved across the country.
A long distance move will often be undertaken over a period of at least two consecutive days. Our experienced surveyor will present a quotation, detailing a move plan, ensuring vacation from your current home on time and in line with your contractual obligations. We will then give you an allotted time for delivery, taking into account travel time and potential delays.
You can be sure that whilst your possessions are in our care, they will be safely wrapped and secured in our vehicle, which will be locked and attended at all times whilst in transit. Any night time parking will be in a safe and secure location. For overnight hold-overs at our depot, trucks are parked in our very own alarmed warehouse with 24 hour CCTV.
Case Study A. Essex to Hampshire (110 miles)
Day 1: Our crew arrives at 8am on completion day. The property is cleared and safely loaded by 12noon and the truck is returned to our depot for overnight hold-over. Our clients then lock the property, drop the keys with the estate agents and travel to Hampshire. They collect their keys by 4pm and checkinto a hotel for the night.
Day 2: Our crew depart our depot at 6:30am and travel to the new property for a 9am arrival. Once arrived, furniture and effects are unloaded and placed to the client’s specification, resulting in an empty truck by lunchtime.
Case Study B. Essex to Devon (290 miles)
Day 1: Our crew and vehicle arrive one day before completion day and pre-load the truck with 95% of the contents to be moved. Overnight essentials including beds will be left for client comfort. Truck returns to depot for secure overnight hold-over.
Day 2: Crew returns to address and loads the overnight essentials. Truck then departs by 10am, allowing for a 6-7 hour journey including a mandatory tachograph break of 45 minutes. Once arrived at the new home, our crew unload the overnight essentials for our client’s first night in their new home before travelling to pre-arranged secure parking.
Day 3: Our crew completes unloading of all furniture and effects to our client’s specification, before travelling back to depot.
